I agree with Steve. I'm in eastern CT so use to driving but New Haven is a haul. Southington or even Bristol (listed on site) are manageable.
Suggestion on the initial topic, keep it higher level, like application programming platforms ( asp.net, php, coldfusion, etc). I think you will get a bigger crowd that way. I personally am not an asp.net developer but wouldn't mind hearing about it if there is more information available.

Im also a member of ICC, a CT designers forum.
We have monthly meetings at a restaurant in Southington, CT with a private back room and basically take up the whole space for a few hours while we meet and discuss topics. There is usually a guest speaker on something design or web related. Members must RSVP and send money via paypal to the moderator who makes the reservation.
As this is a monthly meeting that happens on an off night (usually a Tuesday) I imagine most restaurants would be delighted to have a large party on a regular basis.
I only joined this group yesterday, but Im very interested in seeing what this group will evolve into.
