Jeff, I think this meeting will be a very good first meeting for someone new to website development. Since we focus on "web standards" this meeting explains their importance and their role for businesses and for programmers. Understanding the usefulness of standards is a great foundation for diving in and making use of those same standards. It helps to know what the tangible benefits are.
