Introduction:
"I'm of those people who fell in love with the web way back when (1995'ish) and never quite logged off. I spend the majority of my time and interests on the web, but I wouldn't precisely consider myself a geek. So, I'll leave that for you to decide."
What is your background?
"I'm a (generally) front-end web developer with an accidental specialty in visual design and a focus on standards based, accessible web application development. I'm presently working under the title "Human Factors Engineer" although I consider myself more of a "Web Ninja". "
Are you interested in freelance work?
"Not personally, but I know some really good (and hungry) freelancers that would love to help."
Share with us ? what web site(s) do you use the most for inspiration or helpful tips?
"I'm really into del.icio.us and ma.gnolia with StumbleUpon thrown in for extra flavor."
Are there any great web design books that you recommend?
"For beginners, start with "Making and Breaking the Grid" and the "Color Image Scale"... for IA/UX go for "Designing the Obvious," "Don't Make Me Think," and "The Elements of User Experience." For experts... you tell me. Don't skip Edward Tufte. :-)"
Additional information:
"I'm also really into digital music production, Ruby on Rails, Microformats, and Branding. I'm always looking to meet folks in either industry: web/ux and marcom/advertising. Woot."

"I liked it. This was my first meetup session and it was nice. I'm not sure how to bridge the gap between the extremely skilled and the extremely new, but maybe there's a way. Like I said, though, it could have been the topic itself that caused the gulf. Still, it was nice. Thanks!"
