"I run a local consultancy providing technology solutions to marketing and operational problems. Skills include design, XML, databases, and scripting. I'm also a volunteer on a town parks board, as well as the Rolesville Chamber's Web committee."

What is your background?

"My background is in software and databases. I'm not formally trained in graphic arts, though I have some skill. Favorite tools include Inkscape and GIMP. XML - lots of experience - I have been working with markup since 1994. "

Are you interested in freelance work?

"Yes. I'm particularly interested in XML work that streamlines business processes, but I do design work when the project seems a good fit. "

Share with us ? what web site(s) do you use the most for inspiration or helpful tips?

"I have been leveraging Joomlart.com designs recently, with heavy modification to suit design objectives. I find http://safari.awprofessional.com is a good resource too, and helps me stay the line on book purchases."

Are there any great web design books that you recommend?

"Eric Meyer has some great books on CSS. I co-authored the WROX book "XML Problem Design Solution", so of course I would recommend it. "
