April Meeting Agenda:

Presentation: Design Patterns in web development by Dan Munk

This talk will look at how patterns can be used to focus time and effort in Web development. We will initially look at how common application needs can be used to shape application design, and we will then discuss how the popular model-view-controller pattern can be used to reduce complexity in contemporary Web applications.

Dan Munk has been developing Web applications for over 12 years, and is currently focused on JavaScript and Ruby/Rails.

That CSS book is much too old to review it.

Who attended?

  • 17 attendees
    •  Bricka Bracka was locked down... that sucked. But teh members sure were experts! Had a look time, good people, alcohol was present. I am looking forward to next time. Maybe less socializing and more of an agenda and focused discussion would help... perhaps a Q and A, quest presentations... etc.
    •  Although our speaker didn't show :(, we still had a great time. There was a lot of good networking going on, and including discussion of the upcoming Wordcamp in Reno (this weekend), BarCamp at BrickaBracka (also this weekend), and the recent purchase of MYSQL by Oracle (most think it will be OK for us little guys.)
