We're currently holding a contest to design the logo for the Sacramento Web Design Meetup. We will be making shirts with the winning logo!

The ideal logo would still be effective when reduced to flat 2D black and white. This is a basic principal of good logo design and has the added benefit of making printing on paper or t-shirts much easier.

Drop shadows, gradients, and other effects are best kept to a minimum or avoided altogether. So make sure your logo will still work in flat 2D black and white.

Having a logo mark, icon, symbol, etc. is not as important for this group as having a strong type-based logo. But go with your instinct.

Please post entries to the "Logo Contest Submissions" photo album here: http://webdesign.meet...
Entries will be acccepted until July 15th. Voting will begin July 16th so we'll have a winner before the August meetup.

As you may have noticed, our group - that has been called "The Sacramento Web Design Meetup" for many years - now appears on the meetup.com site as "The Sacramento Web Development Meetup". Use whichever you prefer. A third option would be "The Sacramento Web Design & Development Meetup".
